Lola Belle

Lola Belle joined the Fitzroy wine bar scene in April 2024, and over the past year, it’s quickly become a favourite haunt for locals. In addition to wine, Lola Belle’s rum selection is truly unique. Past events here have included curated rum tastings, and the drinks menu offers signature daiquiris crafted around standout bottles, such as a dark daiquiri featuring Plantation Original Dark and blackstrap molasses. Feeling peckish? The menu nods to the Caribbean theme with bar favourites like the Cuban sandwich, alongside lighter snacks including cheese, olives and freshly-shucked oysters.

Suze Wine Bar

Suze opened its doors in March this year, taking over the former Newry Street home of local favourite One Trick Pony.  Set across two levels, the space balances considered design with a relaxed feel: polished concrete, soft banquettes and an open kitchen upstairs create a setting that feels both refined and welcoming. The joint venture of Giulia Georgetti and Steve Harry, Suze was born from the pair’s years of combined kitchen and front-of-house experience in mainstays of Melbourne’s hospitality scene, including Fitzroy wine bars Marion and Napier Quarter. It’s clear Georgetti and Harry know what they’re doing: the hand-picked wine list highlights the best of French, Spanish and Italian producers, as well as an Australian selection that focuses on Victorian varietals. A simple and seasonally changing menu follows suit; the European-style dining is inspired by the local artisanal produce sourced from businesses like Day’s Walk Farm and Somerset Heritage Produce.
