Fitzroy Writers Festival
Returning in 2025 with a vibrant day of free sessions, the Fitzroy Writers Festival brings together celebrated authors, food writers, political thinkers and emerging literary voices. Here are some of the highlights:
📚 Fitzroy Food Now
Food journalist Dani Valent hosts a lively panel with local food legends including Audrey Shaw (Carnation Canteen), Mischa Tropp (Toddy Shop), Ricardo Garcia Flores (El Columpio) and Mario Maccarone (Marios), exploring the flavour and spirit of Fitzroy’s food scene.
🔍 New Crime Fiction
Mark Mupotsa-Russell, Zane Lovitt and moderator Nilima Rao dive into Melbourne’s freshest crime reads — stories that are dark, smart and often very funny.
